Buildings Records

Scope and Content:

The Buildings Series includes records related to the two iconic landmarks which placed the name of our historic hotel into context. In this series, researchers will find photographic documentation of the original Fifth Avenue building (1893-1929, designed by Henry J. Hardenburgh) and of our current building located on Park Avenue (1931) designed by architects Leonard Shultze and Fullerton Weaver. This series features blueprints, floor plans, artist renderings and ephemera, as well as print and visual material related to renovations of the Park Avenue building and the 1980s project to restore the hotel to its original Art Deco design.
